About this artwork
This is the “Beach at Dusk, St Ives Harbour” by William Evelyn Osborn. The work captures a quiet twilight scene along the Cornish coast, with Smeaton’s Pier jutting into the harbor and a few fishing boats bobbing in the calm sea. The light is muted, the sky a soft indigo that gives the whole scene a hushed, almost contemplative mood.
